WHY NOT SEE HOW YOUR GAME IS GOING AND CALCULATE YOUR SHORT GAME HANDICAP
To calculate it, note down over five rounds how many shots it takes you to get into the hole when you are not yet on the green and are faced with 50 yards or less. If you hit a shot onto the green from more than 50 yards away then do not use this hole in your calculations. For example, if during one round you play shots on six holes from within 50 yards and take a total of 18 shots to get down from these positions, your short game handicap is: 18÷6 = 3.00.
On another day you might play shots from within 50 yards on eight holes and take a total of 22 shots to get down, giving you a short game handicap of: 22÷8 = 2.75.
Do this over five rounds and you’ll get a better understanding of where your short game is at.
